The girlfriend and I decided to head out of town this past weekend for her birthday. No wi-fi, no cell phone signal; just, some peace and quiet on the lake and a whole lot of food which I’m sure caused me to gain a few extra pounds. I was glad to have this much needed recharge but now ready to get back into the fun of the weeks routine…..movies movies movies
Feel free and comment, message, or let me know if you’ve actually watched these movies before and your thoughts. I’d also like to hear if anything reviewed helped you to decide to watch or not watch. Knowing that I saved someone the anguish of a viewing or helped to corrupt some innocent person makes all this worth while.
I had the pleasure of meeting Adam West years ago along with Lynda Carter and Burt Ward. I’d like to say I remember it fondly; but I was maybe 4 years old circa ’79(Ish). As I aged, I grew to appreciate his dry deadpan humor in the various programs he appeared in. Today we lost a legend
Survivors of a nuclear attack are grouped together for days in the basement of their apartment building where fear and dwindling supplies wear away at their dynamic.
This movie was tense from start to finish. It does leave a lot of unanswered questions like who dropped the nuke, who are the people outside of their holding area, but that’s all irrelevant since the basis of the movie is how people can snap or shut down when faced with disaster.
Nudity: 0/10 (Non nude rape scene though)
Spontaneous man wearing dress scenes: 1/10
Should you watch?: 5/10
I have been a movie buff since I was a kid. Recently retired at the age of 42; I spend a lot of time watching as many movies as I can come across. Recently, I’ve come to realize that I’ve missed out of watching many of the classics that every person usually has seen more than once; and on the flip side; I’ve watched a lot of virtually unknown or cult classics that easily get overlooked. I’ve also seen my share of B-movie bombs. So, starting today I’m going to watch movies that I have missed, re-watch everything I’ve already seen, and discuss the finer and not-so-fine points of each of the films. I know there are a ton of movie review blogs out there, but what sets me apart is the fact that I will watch virtually any movie’ not just a certain genres; although, I do watch my share of horror and sci-fi. I’ll be honest though, it pains me to watch musicals’ so I may leave those to the bloggers that specialize in that genre.
